Watching TV
Will I still be able to watch TV?
96% of people with sight problems watch TV, but 70% of people have difficulties following programmes because of their sight loss (*RNIB). Audio description is a useful way of understanding what is happening in the storyline. Typically this might include: character entrances/exits, facial expressions and body language as well as scenery or settings.
Audio description is now available on Freeview and Sky. It is being rolled out on digital cable television but is not available on analogue television.
